Teaching Assistantships
Syed has been a teaching assistant for numerous courses since joining UPEI. He remains keen in helping out fellow students during experiments in the labs, marking assignments and ensuring everyone follows safety protocols such as WHIMS.

UPEI Student Union
Syed leads the UPEI's student led news media called The Cadre as a Managing Editor. Syed has flourished the platform by creating engaging news and social media content such as Reels and weekly newspaper.
Syed's primary focus has been on raising international student's concerns, achievements and cultural events. Syed has also used the power of press to highlight the unfortunate incident's that happened in the past regarding Residence schools in his popular article: "Truth, Reconciliation and Ribbon Skirts."
Other notable articles written highlighted events such as: Diwali, and Dashain. Syed has also advocated regarding the lack of support systems placed within UPEI to help with student's from Palestine amidst the escalating tensions in the region.
Pakistan Student Association
Syed noticed the lack for Pakistan student society at UPEI. Consequently, Pakistani students didn't really have an official platform to network and connect with student's from the same culture. Syed Imran is the founding President of Pakistan Student Association which he ratified during the Fall 2023 semester.
Engineering Society
Syed is a 1st year representative for the Engineering society.
Research: Climate Change and Adaptation
Summer 2023, Syed worked for UPEI's Centre of Climate Change and Adaptation. as a Research Assistant. Syed Imran was extensively involved in:

Analyzing historical flooding metrics of PEI to project future in-land and coastal flooding, hence remain equipped to mitigate impact from another disaster such as Fiona.

Field survey around PEI such as North Rustico, Summerside, Linkletter Provincial Park, and Brackley Beach to assist PHD students on data collection on coastal erosion and waste water management.

Analysis of PEI's infrastructure and Fisheries industry and it's overall climate change footprint..

Co-Authored a pending published research paper, Mental and Physical health repercussion from Climate Change.

Attending Climate Forum 2023 and networked with Professors from to-notch universities around Canada and the U.S.

Writing Article for Sigma Magazine.
